Woodhouses Cricket Club is a busy cricket and social club located in Woodhouses, Failsworth. Whilst we predominately focus on cricket, we also take pride in being a family orientated club with over 500 registered members. The club boasts beautiful views over the cricket field and beyond to the Manchester city skyline.

Duties and Responsibilities
· To be responsible for the day to day general management of the bar at the club, ensuring excellence in customer service, with focus on opportunities for growth
· Run and take part in promotional campaigns and events to drive sales, using local initiatives and innovative ideas utilising local & social media
· Stock control and ordering, as well as budgeting and maintaining turnover, this will include developing existing systems, including the “Epos” stock management system
· Work with the committee to develop and implement changes, to promote the club and allow the business to grow
· To serve customers as a member of the bar staff. Management of bar and cleaning staff, including recruitment training and rotas
· To ensure all relevant staff are fully trained and proficient in their duties, taking full account of employment, environmental and health and safety legislation
· Manage function room bookings and catering requirements and coordinate all private functions, including the setup and preparation of the function room if required
· Monitor the Club’s email account and respond to bar/function room bookings
· Manage general maintenance of the clubhouse facilities
· The Bar Manager will receive supervision and guidance from, and report to, the Bar Director, Club Chairman and Executive Committee.
· Report back to the Bar Sub Committee to present updates on operations / progress, ideas and solutions
Experience Required
· Minimum of two year’s experience in running a licensed premises and catering operation
· The Bar Manager must hold, and maintain, any required licence, at the Clubs expense
· Proven track record of increasing sales within the licensed trade. Excellent customer service credentials
· Good communications, IT and numerical skills. Innovative, with a ‘Can do’ attitude
· Experience in managing and training staff
· Experience in handling the finances of a business
· Experience in stock and cellar management
Desirable Qualities
· Relevant qualifications - catering qualification would be an advantage
· Key holder position, meaning residing locally would be a distinct advantage
· Salary and Hours are negotiable with an expected salary between £25k to £30k dependant on the candidate
· 6 month probation period
· Successful Applicant will be subject to DBS check
Pay: £25,000.00 - £30,000.00 per year
Expected hours: Seasonal based from 25 – 45 hours per week
Performance bonus

We are currently looking for a Head Groundperson primarily to maintain the cricket square and prepare pitches to a high standard. We have a team of volunteers which support maintenance of the outfield and wider ground facilities but we require the expertise of a head groundsman.
Following recent promotion to the GMCL Premier league for the 2024 season the club fields three senior teams, five junior teams along with a thriving All Stars programme.
Hours are flexible in accordance with the fixture list.
If you are interested in joining a friendly community club with high quality facilities we would love to talk to you. The position is a paid role and a rate will be dependent on candidate experience etc.

Please support our club Fundraising raffle and be in with a chance of winning a pair of Ashes tickets for the sold out Old Trafford Test Match on Thursday 20th July and Friday 21st July.
We have 4 pairs of tickets to give away, and after the shenanigans in the Lords Test Match, the remaining Ashes fixtures are one of the hottest tickets in town. We are confident of a nice warm Lancastrian welcome for the tourists, which will provide an electric atmosphere and one not to be missed.
Tickets can only be purchased from behind the bar, and the winner will be announced Saturday night at the Summer BBQ, where the raffle will also be broadcast live on Facebook at around 22h00.
